Did
you know that Eleanor Roosevelt was painfully shy as a child? She overcame the challenges put forth in her
destiny and went on to become one of the most quoted women of the 20th
century. Her remarks were cleverly
devised word plays that always captured a sentiment with universal appeal and
timelessness. Brilliant

new products that will be developed for licensing are umbrellas, bags (three

The
charity initiative that will raise money for brain tumor research is even more
relevant today. With the unfortunate
diagnosis of Senator Ted Kennedy, the timing seems incredibly potent. Titled “Hope
Floats” after one of my first mandalas, the program will feature a limited
edition t-shirt with the Hope Floats design.
All net proceeds from the program will be donated to the National Brain
Tumor Foundation. They will be working
in conjunction with us on this effort and we hope to raise awareness across the
globe for this terrible disease. The campaign
is based upon the mandala and will generate publicity through a “viral” sticky
note campaign. Each person that buys a
T-shirt will receive a stack of Hope Floats sticky notes. The idea is to plaster the world with these
notes in an effort to increase awareness.
The sticky notes are easy to apply to mirrors, glass doors, and windows,
in restaurants, malls, businesses, and anywhere throughout the world. Register and help spread the word. www.chrisflishermandalas.com

June finds us staring down
Mercury whose retrograde motion began on May 26th and continues
until June 19th when it stations direct (moves forward) at 12
degrees Gemini. Mercury and Neptune are
in harmonious dance at this time and they will continue to apply to each other
into July. Mercury is all about
communication, research, and technology, whereas
Mercury retrograde always
sends people running for cover and it does so unnecessarily. Retrograde does not mean to run for cover,
although it can wreak havoc with your dialogs, more importantly it is about
reviewing, revising, re-evaluating etc.
In short, anything with the prefix “re” applies to a retrograde. The retrograde of Mercury occurs three times
a year and is often blamed on mechanical failures and stalled negotiations. Red tape is the word that springs to mind
with this feisty planet’s travels. Get
lost in it and you’ll be treading water for at least three weeks. Grin and bear it. It is especially meaningful this time since
it occurs in Gemini, the sign that is ruled by Mercury. This gives it an especially powerful impact,
but only until the 19th of June.
On a very sweet and
positive note, gentle Venus clips into the calm watery realm of Cancer on the 19th of June. The tender sensibilities of Venus’s
affectionate manner fit very nicely in Cancer.
Expect sentimental feelings and a closeness among family members. This is a good time to look back over your
family’s history. All lives are filled
with an equal combination of light and dark.
This is a marvelous opportunity to bathe in the light. Pax vobiscum

Astrology 101: The Fifth House
It is time to resume our discussion of the houses with the next in line; the
fifth house. The fifth house is the
house of children. It corresponds to fun
and creativity. Only children possess
the wide-eyed innocence required to create without fear. Additionally the fifth house pertains to
talent, romance, speculation, self-esteem and love given. It makes sense that this is also a house of
innocence and wonder. Bold, bright, and
courageous, the fifth house brims with optimism and presence much the way its
corresponding signs of Leo and the Sun do.
Watch a Leo in a room and you’ll understand the fifth house. Creative, commanding and courageous, the
fifth house exudes a playful quality only found in the innocence of the
inexperienced. That is not to say that
inexperience or naiveté are pre-requisites, but simply that they fit in well in
the fifth house. Planets in your chart
that fall into the fifth house will embellish their characteristics with all of
the aforementioned qualities. Venus in
the fifth, for example would indicate an appreciation for the arts with a
strong feminine aesthetic. With regard
to creativity, Venus exhibits its soft qualities under the roof of the fifth
house. Mars in the fifth would indicate
a strong drive to be creative an expressive.
Some adjectives that apply
to the fifth house are: children, concerts, creative self-expression, games,
hobbies, love affairs, theaters, teachers, pleasure, and show business. A strong planet in the fifth house in your
natal chart can indicate a propensity for all of the above
characteristics. The degree to which
those qualities manifest themselves in your life depends on the planets and the
aspects to your natal fifth house.
The only way of
determining that is to have your chart cast professionally. For more in-depth discussion of astrology,
contact Chris. Personal readings are always available by emailing Chris

SPIRIT IN ART:
“Reel Of Fortune” – Fortune is a loaded word. It has a duality that implies wealth and
destiny in the same breath. How ironic
that a word can have such diverse potential?
Fortune is the term applied to those of wealth and dominance; as is
“fame and fortune.” It also implies
destiny. Does destiny presume good
fortune? Not always, and therein lies
the crux of the matter. Destiny has its
challenges and potential; its ups and downs.
How do we best realize our cyclical destiny? The best manner is the middle way. The middle way presumes nothing and accepts
life as a composite of both ends of the spectrum. We will always have cycles of richness and poverty;
both materially and spiritually. It is
best to expect nothing and give more.
Disappointment invariably lies behind the glimmer of expectations.
