Debt
is like karma. You acquire it and then
you must face some form of recompense or payback. It is an inevitability that cannot be avoided
despite our clever efforts. The best
approach to resolving karmic debt, and all debt for that matter, is to start
giving back. Giving back means offering
up your services and kindness to others without the intention of receiving.
v
How
many of us are in debt? The economy and
the state of the financial systems of the world are faced with a serious
corrective measure. This is Pluto at his
finest. He will set the record straight
regardless of our plans. The Federal
Reserve Board has no power over this.
The current economic climate is one that is so incredibly large and
insurmountable, it is hard to imagine how we will escape it without complete
upheaval. If the astrology holds, true,
we are in for a correction unlike any other.

AS ABOVE, SO BELOW:
Nasty and tenacious little Mercury stationed direct on June 19th after
3 weeks of being retrograde. His shadow
effect still lingers until around July 4th when it goes completely
direct. At about the same time as
Mercury went direct, on the preceding day, we had a full Moon in Sagittarius on
June 18th which was conjunct Pluto.
The combination of a full Moon conjunct Pluto and Mercury retrograde caused
major meltdowns in communications and relationships throughout the world. Geminis and Sagittarians probably felt it the
most, although I am sure Pisces and Virgos felt it rather harshly as well. Pluto is retrograde in Sagittarius and will
continue that backwards motion until September when it will gear up its power
in time for a dramatic appearance at the election. This election is slated to be one of the most
important in the history of this country.
As we progress into the next few years, enormous change will sweep
across so many different facets of world politics, societal values, patterns of
living, and religious beliefs. Change is
the word. It is easy to cast off the
notion of change, because you can argue that it is always present; which is
true. However, it is the DEGREE of
change that we are about to face that is significant. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Transits affect different charts
differently. The coming years will be
hugely transitional as major planets begin to align in the sensitive degrees of
cardinal signs. Cardinal signs are all about
change, initiation, and new departures.
Be ready for exciting and challenging times. As always, use these transits to your own
greatest advantage with a professional astrology reading. If you have specific questions about how
these events affect you or want an accurate reading, you can always email me at

July settles in as the
solstice passes and the days begin to gradually grow shorter from June 21st
onward. Mercury will be direct on the 4th
of July and Mars will enter Virgo on July 1st heralding quiet, yet
positive motion. Mars is all about
action, but Virgo is all about service.
Combine the two and you have great effort being expended in service to
others at this time, especially to those who have a strong Mars in their chart
or to Aries and Scorpios who have a significant relationship with the fiery planet. On July 10th Mars will be conjunct
(exact degree) with Saturn in Virgo.
Saturn is dedication, hard work and responsibility. When combined with Mars in Virgo we have
enormous effort being put into repairing damaged parts of our lives. Under that veil comes communicative tension
in the form of Mercury at 29 degrees Gemini as it opposes Pluto at 29
Sagittarius. It is likely that the final
tally for the damage caused by major floods and the rising cost of living will
start to reveal its very painful impact. At that same time the Sun in Cancer will
oppose Jupiter in Capricorn. The caring
and maternal aspect of Cancer will be fueled by direct confrontation to
responsible Capricorn. It is likely that
the debt owed by the government for the protection of its people will be
highlighted. That debt will come in the
form of economic recovery, financial aid, and subsidies. Where the money comes for all of these
programs and responsibilities is where the tension will occur. Again the word debt rises to the surface as
the
Venus will pass out of Cancer and into proud and boastful Leo on July 13th. Leo is a fixed (immovable) Cardinal sign and
will welcome Venus on his terms only. At
the same time Jupiter will continue to go retrograde in Capricorn and slow
progress in earth-based areas.
Overall the month of July
appears to be one of repair, forgiveness (of debt, perhaps) and slow
servitude. Those with a strong Mars in
their charts will be especially prone to these feelings. For details of the impact of these planets in
your chart, contact me for an in-depth reading.
Focus on positive events and always be open to possibilities.

Astrology 101: Jupiter Retrograde
What happens when the largest, most expansive planet in our solar system goes
retrograde? Think of big and think of
change. Anything that Jupiter touches
comes with a sense of enormity. It is
the most expansive and impressive planet in our universal neighborhood. Often regarded as a benevolent planet,
Jupiter does have that great potential.
However, more importantly, Jupiter simply brings largesse wherever he
travels and where he appears in your chart.
Depending on the house in your chart, it can bring enormous prosperity
and fame or it can bring an undue sense of weight. For example Jupiter on the mid-heaven in a
chart is pure success. It is almost
impossible to screw up a career with this benevolent giant on your career cusp. This doesn’t mean you haven’t got to work for
what you get, but the odds of succeeding are tremendously likely. So what happens when this giant goes
retrograde?
At this time of
retrogradation think of Jupiter as a huge Hummer RV. That big sparkling recreation vehicle that
eats up gas and highways is the perfect symbol for Jupiter retrograde. The analogy is especially relevant at this
time. As gas prices continue to soar,
this big lumbering Hummer of a planet will make us pay for all the luxury and
comfort we have sought with our decadence and mindless spending. We are all riding backwards in the Hummer and
we are running on empty. THAT is Jupiter
retrograde! Jupiter’s impact is always
felt substantially because it is such a large presence. That means it has huge impact for goodness
and growth and, by contrast, huge impact on correction and responsibility. The bigger they come, the harder they
fall. Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn
implies enormous responsibility and recompense.
This will manifest itself in the areas of energy, finances and
institutions that draw from earth-based industries. Do you know where Jupiter is in your
chart? It is a significant player and
can determine your fortune. The only way
of determining that is to have your chart cast professionally. For more in-depth discussion of astrology,

SPIRIT IN ART:
“Soleil” – The sun is the astrological equivalent of the ego; the root
of all character and personality dimension. With radiant colors and an
overwhelming sense of warmth, this mandala symbolizes the inner source. The sun
symbolizes the divine masculine principle or father figure. It is ruled by the
proud sign of Leo and finds strength and purpose in the responsible energy of
Saturn. Its counterpart is the watery softness of maternal moon. Together sun and
moon dance through the cosmos in moving dialog of opposites and equals. Spirit
lives in between the ego and the emotion.
In balance we find calm, quietude, and a sense of purpose. Sing along…
